Great inclusion of articles available in the Resources section. Good review of the capabilities of the software. I live in Toronto, Canada, but work around the world. I love science and do a lot of investigation. I enjoyed enormously the presentation.
It was witty, funny, and serious at the same time. Thank you! The workshop was very hands on. All concepts and their applications were clearly explained. I highly recommend this to qualitative researchers. All participants in the training were very pleased.
Brian K. By immediately applying the training to our context, I was able to master the process better than I expected.
This workshop was focused on two projects, neither of which I am working on, and I was still able Victoria MillsResearch Assistant, Department of Public Health, University of Tennessee Knoxville One of my job duties is to come up with a qualitative study from focus groups of Registered Nurses identifying what is important in their practice of Nursing.
You've opened up a lot of possibilities and guided me toward being better organized and a better analyst. I feel much more comfortable using this software, and I know I will use it much more effectively with what I have learned. This is time well spent. I was somewhat anxious at first.
The software is feature-rich and seemed dauntingly complex at first. Having the structured walk-through with practical recommendations is extremely useful. You've saved me a lot of time, confusion, and likely errors! Every topic covered was very useful.
It was easy to follow along. I feel like I learned many practical techniques and can start using the software on my own now. He provided comprehensive information and thorough analysis training, not just the mechanics of the program. He also went beyond just teaching the software by also incorporating qualitative methodology into the instruction.
I really have a much better sense of how to use it much more effectively and how to better organize my data. I also got some ideas about how to teach qualitative research. I think a real strength of his approach is the emphasis on methodological issues pertaining to qualitative research.
In this regard, the training is grounded in the analytic process and that is essential. An experienced qualitative researcher [critical ethnography], I needed to learn how to use ATLAS, such a powerful package. I'm excited to start analysis using the skills I developed during the training.
Thank you--this was time well spent! I now feel capable of using the program to analyze my dissertation data. The program has greatly facilitated my analysis of my interview and observation data, and the format of the workshop allowed me to explore the best tools and approaches for my data. Great job! For example, moving beyond basic open coding to work with document, code, and memo families, and learning to search for patterns in the data His mastery of qualitative research shows when he teaches the course.
Select Only invited people can view option to create a private link. Specify a title for your prototype. Then set the following prototype options: Allow Comments: This option is selected by default. Show Hotspot Hints: This option is selected by default. This option allows you to see hotspot hints in the prototype.
Show Navigation Controls: Select this option if you want to create a more controlled environment for user testing by displaying the left and right navigation controls. When this option is unchecked, the navigation controls are hidden. Navigation controls disable Navigation controls enabled A.
Next artboard Open in Full Screen: Select this option if you want the prototype to open in full screen when a user clicks the link. Require Password: This option enables you to add a security layer to the shared public prototype. When you select this option and set a password, reviewers are required to type in the password to view the prototype.
Share for Review options After setting the various options, select Create link. Note: If you have set up password protection, you can set a password and create a link. Click the link to open the shared prototype in a web browser. Click Copy Link to copy and paste the generated URL into your email client or other communication channels to share with the others. To copy the embed code, click Copy Embed Code.
You can then paste this code into any website that supports inline frames. Note: You can also deep-link to specific artboards in your design. Click the link to your shared prototype, navigate to a specific artboard, and then copy the URL for that artboard. You can then share that URL with reviewers.
Note: If you share your design without interactions, all your artboards are uploaded and you can navigate using the keyboard arrow keys. The order of your artboards is left to right, top to bottom. If your design includes interactions, only those artboards connected to the Home artboard are uploaded and shared. Share design specs for developers The design specs feature empowers you to share design properties of your files automatically.
Developers can view the sequence and flow of artboards in addition to detailed specs for each artboard, complete with measurements, colors, and character styles, and also use the commenting option to share feedback. Open the Adobe XD file that you want to hand off to developers.
Edit the title if needed. From the Export for drop-down button, select whether you want to export your prototype for Web, iOS, or Android. Then, click Create link. Note: XD sets the default units of measurement based on the option set for the Home screen. Initiating the upload of images Progress bar showing the upload of images Click the link to open the shared design specs in the default browser.
If you have created a public link, click Copy Link to copy the public link and send it to a developer for inspection. In addition, using the Connect to folder function you can use it with any e-book reader that exports itself as a USB disk. Finally, you can connect wirelessly to any device that has a web browser using the calibre Content server.
If your device appears as a USB disk to the operating system, adding support for it to calibre is very easy. We just need some information from you: Complete list of e-book formats that your device supports. Is there a special directory on the device in which all e-book files should be placed? Also does the device detect files placed in sub-directories? We also need information about your device that calibre will collect automatically.
First, if your device supports SD cards, insert them. Then connect your device to the computer. This will create some debug output. Copy it to a file and repeat the process, this time with your device disconnected from your computer. Send both the above outputs to us with the other information and we will write a device driver for your device.
Once you send us the output for a particular operating system, support for the device in that operating system will appear in the next release of calibre. To send us the output, open a bug report and attach the output to it. See calibre bugs. My device is not being detected by calibre?
Instead use a wireless connection, via the calibre Content server. Make sure you are running the latest version of calibre. The latest version can always be downloaded from the calibre website. You can tell what version of calibre you are currently running by looking at the bottom line of the main calibre window. Ensure your operating system is seeing the device. My device is non-standard or unusual. What can I do to connect to it? Note: on Windows, the device must have a drive letter for calibre to use it.
Note that if you are using the user defined plugin for a device normally detected by a builtin calibre plugin, you must disable the builtin plugin first, so that your user defined plugin is used instead.
How does calibre manage collections on my SONY reader? The collections of which books are members are shown on the device view. When you send a book to the reader, calibre will add the book to collections based on the metadata for that book.
By default, collections are created from tags and series. If you remove all values, calibre will not add the book to any collection. To ensure that the collections for a book are based only on current calibre metadata, first delete the books from the reader, then resend the books. You can edit collections directly on the device view by double-clicking or right-clicking in the collections column.
Collections will be built using calibre metadata exclusively. Editing collections on the device view is not permitted, because collections not in the metadata will be removed automatically.
